Our Products — Custom Rare Earth Magnets for Every Application

Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) Magnets

At The Samarium Magnet Company, we produce custom Samarium Cobalt magnets tailored to exact dimensional, magnetic, and environmental specifications:

  • Sintered SmCo: for dense, high-strength applications
  • Bonded SmCo: combining SmCo powder with epoxy or other binders for slightly flexible shapes and complex geometries
  • Hot-pressed SmCo: providing higher energy density and precision-tuned magnetic performance.

Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets are high-performance, hard, and reliable, engineered for extreme conditions. Renowned for exceptional temperature stability and corrosion resistance, these magnets excel in aerospace, defense, nuclear, and demanding industrial applications. They operate continuously above 350 °C and tolerate peaks up to 550 °C, far exceeding the limits of standard Neodymium magnets.

Neodymium (NdFeB) Magnets

At The Samarium Magnet Company, our Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets are custom-manufactured with full attention to every engineering specification and performance requirement.

  • Sintered NdFeB: Dense, high-strength magnets ideal for high-performance motors and advanced systems.
  • Bonded NdFeB: Magnetic powder combined with resins, enabling complex geometries and partial flexibility.
  • Hot-pressed NdFeB: Engineered for superior energy density, thermal stability, and precision performance.

Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets are the strongest permanent magnets available, delivering unmatched magnetic energy for motors, actuators, robotics, and precision sensors. Renowned for their exceptional power density in compact designs, these magnets excel in applications where maximum strength and performance are critical. Standard grades operate up to 150 °C, while high-temperature variants—enhanced with heavy rare earth elements like Dysprosium (Dy) and Terbium (Tb)—perform reliably up to 230 °C.

Aluminum Nickel Cobalt (Alnico) Magnets

At The Samarium Magnet Company, Alnico magnets are produced in two main forms to meet diverse engineering and industrial needs:

  • Cast Alnico: Offers high magnetic energy and excellent dimensional stability, ideal for complex shapes and high-performance applications.
  • Sintered Alnico: Provides tighter tolerances and improved mechanical strength for precision instruments and smaller components.

Alnico magnets are durable, thermally stable, and highly resistant to demagnetization, providing consistent magnetic performance across wide temperature ranges up to 550 °C. Known for their linear temperature coefficients and reliability under heat, vibration, or stress, Alnico magnets are ideal for sensors, precision instruments, electric motors, and measurement devices.

Ferrite & Ceramic Magnets

Ferrite (Ceramic) magnets are cost-effective, corrosion-resistant, and highly reliable, widely used in motors, loudspeakers, magnetic separators, sensors, and industrial machinery. Known for their strong resistance to demagnetization and chemical corrosion, they deliver long-term stability and consistent performance in demanding environments.

At The Samarium Magnet Company, Ferrite magnets are available in two main formats:

  • Sintered Ferrite: Dense and strong, offering high magnetic output and resistance to heat and demagnetization.
  • Bonded Ferrite: Combines ferrite powder with binders for design flexibility and smooth integration into assemblies.

Custom Coated & Plated Magnets — Even for Single-Unit Orders

Have a small order or prototype request? We’ve got you covered. The Samarium Magnet Company supports low-volume and custom magnet production, offering the same precision and quality as our large-scale manufacturing runs. We believe great partnerships start small — just promise us that if you love our magnets, you’ll come back for more!

Our proprietary coating and finishing technologies let you tailor the look and performance of your magnets:

  • Protective finishes: nickel, gold, zinc, and epoxy coatings for durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Color customization: up to 8 paint colors for Neodymium magnets and unlimited patina options for buck-ball and decorative forms.
  • Advanced processes: PVC coating, electroplating, and even paint-baked finishes — including on ferrite magnets, which are typically non-conductive and rarely coated.
